North Dallas man killed after being shot in the leg by an acquaintance

DALLAS, TX – A man was pronounced dead at a Dallas hospital over an hour after being shot in the leg by an acquaintance then driven over 15 miles away from the scene.

According to a report by the Dallas Morning News, police responded to reported shots fired within the 300 block of Vista Court at about 5:15 p.m. Upon their arrival, officials discovered the scene of the shooting but no suspects or victims in sight.

Officers then responded to an injured person report 15 miles away at the intersection of Audelia Road and Walnut Street at 6:00 p.m. Investigators believe immediately following the incident, the shooter drove the victim to northeast Dallas and then called for help.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital where they died shortly after.

The driver was taken into police custody without resistance.
