Enticement of a minor and indecency with a child are both involve crimes against a child. Due to children being involved with the crime, there are heavy penalties associated with these crimes. Enticement of a minor occurs if someone invites, persuades, or attempts to convince a child to enter somewhere to commit sexual acts on a child. Indecency with a child occurs two ways, by sexual contact or by exposure to a child. 

 

Failure to register as a sex offender is another sexual crime. The Texas Sex Offender Registration Program went into effect on September 1, 1991. The laws around the program often change, as the Texas Legislature tends to amend these laws every legislative session. Prostitution is another sex related crime, which occurs when someone offers or agrees to receive a fee from someone for sexual conduct or to pay a fee to engage in sexual conduct. There is also sexual assault, which someone can potentially be convicted of just based off of someone’s claim.
