Texas Bar Association
The Texas Bar Association is the largest charitable funded bar foundation in the nation, and for five decades they have helped organizations to educate the public, provide legal services to the poor, and protect the vulnerable. Being invited to the Fellows composed of the most elite Texas attorneys is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a member of the State Bar of Texas. In order to be nominated, outstanding contributions to the legal profession as well as a commitment to the community are required. The Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees must vote on each nominee.
As a Fellow, Cody will join a network of outstanding Texas attorneys representing a wide range of ages, experiences, and practice areas—all united in their commitment to professional integrity and advancing the cause of justice in the state of Texas. About Cody Cofer
Cody Cofer is a partner at the Cofer Luster Law Firm, PC. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (certified in 2013, recertified in 2018). Before becoming a criminal defense lawyer in Texas, he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony charges, both adult and juvenile.
As a Fort Worth defense attorney, Cody has worked privately defending hundreds of clients and was also appointed as an Assistant Federal Public Defender. His trial experience includes practically every kind of criminal charge: sex trafficking, drug conspiracy, murder, theft, DWI, and white-collar crimes. He has argued appeals in state and federal court, including the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; Fort Worth Second Court of Appeals; and the Fifth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Cody regularly teaches evidence and trial advocacy to other attorneys.
